Tammy Tibbetts is the President and Founder of She's the First, a not-for-profit that sponsors girls’ education in the developing world. For underprivileged girls, the impact of a sponsorship is life-changing: Most will be the first in their families to graduate. For the Millennials who use their networks to creatively fundraise for these sponsorships, She’s the First provides community, leadership, reporting, and travel opportunities, and, most importantly, a sense of global citizenship. She co-founded the concert for She's the First, GIRLS WHO ROCK, which is held during Internet Week New York.

Tammy is using her entrepreneurial drive to build a business model around She's the First. She is also fundraising among investors/corporations and applying for grants to make She's the First her full-time job in 2012. In the meantime, she works for Seventeen magazine and manages social media. She previously was the founding editor of DonateMyDress.org, MisQuinceMag.com, and the Ultimate Prom concert video franchise for Seventeen.

Once a recipient of New York Women in Communications' Glamour Ruth Whitney Scholarship, Tammy now is the youngest-serving board member of the New York Women in Communications Foundation. Ruth Whitney, the late legendary editor of Glamour who upheld a mantra of "style and substance," is one of her most powerful inspirations. In 2010, Tammy and She's the First were recognized at Glamour's Women of the Year Awards at Carnegie Hall, just one year after She's the First's launch in November 2009. Tammy was also named a Social Change Ambassador for Levi's Shape What's to Come campaign and writes regularly for The Huffington Post Impact section.

Tammy is a 2007 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the College of New Jersey with a B.A. in journalism. She is the first in her family to travel to Africa and move to New York City, two experiences that completely changed her life.
