Rochelle Behrens is CEO and Founder of The Shirt by Rochelle Behrens, a brand of women’s button down shirts that fit properly across the bust.

 

After interning at the White House and graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, Rochelle began her career in the world of Washington, DC politics.

 

Given that she vowed to never wear a sweater set, it was suits and button-downs Monday through Friday. She filled her closet with shirts. You name it, she bought it – and they never fit. In a city like DC, where the term ‘buttoned up’ is taken very seriously, not being adequately buttoned up, literally, became a liability.

 

After years of safety pinning her shirts before work, and after noticing that women everywhere were wearing ill-fitting shirts, Rochelle developed her patented Dual Button Technology™, a design built into her button down shirts to eliminate blouse gape between the buttons at the bust.

 

Oprah named The Shirt her “Must Have Fashion Item” for the year in 2011 on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Rochelle has also been featured in The New York Times, on The Today Show, was named to Inc. Magazine’s ‘30 Under 30’ and The Shirt has appeared in People, Glamour, Essence and O Magazine.
