Lauren Perkins is a branding and digital marketing evangelist who delivers integrated solutions with an entrepreneurial perspective. Best known for her core entrepreneurial business principals that have made her a success, Lauren founded Perks Consulting in 2008, a boutique full-service marketing agency specializing in the fusion of lifestyle and technology. As Founder and CEO, Lauren oversees the agency’s mission to develop brands, products and campaigns that build relevant innovative businesses. Since 2001, Lauren has provided strategic counsel by integrating digital activation with core marketing tactics. Lauren attributes her expertise to her proven success in building and executing off-and-online marketing plans to grow small businesses such as, the prestigious New York medical spa, Laser Cosmetica from its infancy stage to quadruple revenue growth and triple retail location expansion over the course of two years. In the fitness category, Lauren kicked-off retail branding and visual merchandising programs for Nike before moving on to Crunch Fitness’s New York headquarters, to build the Community Activities department, the first interactive initiative to drive community engagement and member acquisition. As traditional marketing and communications efforts merged with the digital space, so did Lauren’s strategic approach. She continued to parlay her key competencies into 360 degree integrated strategies for companies in need of marketing solutions. She also served as a consultant on her expertise in product launches to guerilla marketing tactics for brands in the lifestyle space including Toyota, Bloomingdales and ABC TV. In 2011, Lauren was invited to be one of 50 global emerging women leaders to attend the inaugural Banco Santander “W50” summit at the UCLA Anderson School of Management that focused on executive leadership and board management. A supporter of engendering the start-up workplace ratio, she invested in the first ever women's executive network, 85 Broads in 2009. Lauren’s strategic vision paved the way to reinvigorate 85 Broads’ business model, brand identity, website platform and global social media implementation. Lauren’s in-depth understanding of brand, product, web ideation, community engagement, business development, digital landscape and experiential marketing makes her a sought after thought leader in the area of business growth and digital innovation. Lauren lectures digital strategy and community management at General Assembly, a campus for technology, design, and entrepreneurship. Lauren can also be found speaking on panels including Internet Week New York (IWNY), OBOW 20th anniversary Health & Fitness Conference and NYU Stern MBA Summit. She is also a health, fitness, and beauty contributor for livestrong.com.

When she's not shaking things up with Perks’ clients, Lauren can be found embracing her athletic spirit racing triathlons by summer and snowboarding the slopes in the winter.

Q&A with Lauren Perkins:

What's one truly bad PR mistake entrepreneurs MUST avoid now that reporters are relying so heavily on digital resources (social media, company websites, etc.) for business reporting?

Not having a call to action ready on the site so that people know what the next step is if they’re interested.
