Before joining Chargify in 2009, Lance Walley co-founded Engine Yard in 2006, which grew into a key player in Ruby on Rails services in the cloud. As CEO of Engine Yard, Lance fostered rapid growth and implemented a strong management team. He served as CEO until his friendly departure in 2009. Before that, Lance founded Quality Humans in 2001 to provide Perl consulting services, and co-founded Parallax in 1987, which makes tiny computers that can still be purchased worldwide. In his free time, Lance enjoys reading the newspaper, riding motorcycles, and trying out independent coffeehouses.
