SubscribeKaren has over ten years of industry experience extending across multiple functions within the fashion and technology sectors. She has consulted for fashion clients including a department store in collaboration with Kurt Salmon Associates, luxury retailer and independent designer. At Goode Partners, she executed the firm's investment in SkullCandy, which went public in 2011, and worked on the turnaround of a luxury specialty retailer. Previously she worked in Gap Inc.’s Corporate Strategy group, where she assessed acquisition and new retail concept opportunities such as Piperlime.com. Karen began her career in Goldman Sachs’ Technology, Media and Telecom investment banking group where she worked on mergers and acquisitions and corporate financing deals that exceeded $1 billion in transaction value. Karen holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. from UCLA where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Her research at Harvard included studies in multi-channel retailing, luxury diffusion brands and supply chain innovation for emerging designers. She initially pursued a B.A. in Fashion Design at Otis College of Art & Design, where she was a Grant recipient and recognized on the Dean’s List. Her company was selected as Finalist in Harvard Business School's 2011 edition of the Alumni New Venture Contest in New York and was the only fashion start-up included in the 2012 SXSW Accelerator. Karen has been featured in the Xconomy, Huffington Post, Business Insider, TheNextWeb, Tech Cocktail and BetaBeat.
