Jeff Slobotski is the Founder and Chief Community Builder at Silicon Prairie News, an Omaha-based company dedicated to highlighting and supporting entrepreneurs and creatives within the Omaha, Des Moines and Kansas City regions. In addition to blogging about members of the region's creative class, Slobotski and his team at SPN help to organize events to connect these individuals such as StartupWeekend, BarCamp and the annual Big Omaha conference, which brings together over 500 entrepreneurs from across the United States.
Additionally, Slobotski is involved with an array of community organizations, including Packs of Promise, a non-profit he founded to assist the community's homeless during the winter months, and the Greater Omaha Chamber's Young Professionals Council. He was named one of the Ten Outstanding Young Omahans by the Omaha Jaycees and received the Midlands Business Journal's "40 Under 40" award. Slobotski's work has been covered by CNN, Fast Company, Midwest Airlines’ inflight Magazine, author Seth Godin and numerous other publications.
