Erik Severinghaus is an accomplished entrepreneur who specializes in leading disruptive innovation in enterprises both large and small. He has been featured in publications including the Wall St. Journal, Chicago Tribune, and Crane’s Chicago. Entrepreneurial Highlights Erik has helped found over a dozen companies over the past 13 years. Together, these companies have generated hundreds of jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars of shareholder value in industries ranging from pizza franchises to adventure travel to high-tech startups. Key highlights include: • Founder and CEO of SimpleRelevance – a fast growing, venture backed Chicago technology startup that improves digital marketing conversion by using data to segment customers and personalize their messaging. • Founding Team for iContact – third largest Email Service Provider in the Small-Midsize segment (sold in 2012 for $169 Million.) • Co-Founder of SkiBase – a franchise group that bought the Chicago territory rights for PapaJohn’s Pizza seven locations currently operating. • Founder of Wanderlust Ventures – an adventure travel company that specializes in high altitude mountaineering in remote countries (including Tanzania and Argentina.) Corporate Highlights In addition to entrepreneurship experience, Erik was an accomplished leader and innovator at IBM during his 6+ year career there. Key highlights include: • Led teams that won over $250 Million in competitive sales wins by helping Fortune 500 enterprises optimize their IT Infrastructure. • Leader in developing the IBM Grid & Grow cloud solution, generating millions of dollars of business and a patent related to Grid computing optimization. Education Highlights: • MBA – Kellogg School of Management – Northwestern University (Entrepreneurship) • BS – Business Administration – University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Personal: Erik lives steps from Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL. He is an avid outdoorsman, water polo player, and triathlete in addition to being a huge fan of the Cubs and Tar Heels. He has climbed some of the world’s highest mountains and is an Ironman triathlete. He is active with charities including Endure to Cure and Movember, and is a mentor with Chicago Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
