She is a media and communications expert with over a decade of experience in telling a well-crafted story-- first to Judges, then to Customers, the Press and her Readers. She is also the Co-Founder of Urban Interns, an angel-funded company that connects growing companies with part-time help and interns. The company was named One of America’s Most Promising Startups in Business Week and has been routinely featured in top tier media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, Crains, Inc., Reuters, Tech Crunch, Entrepreneur, US News and World Report, CNN.com, Fox Business.
Cari is a contributor to Forbes.com, where she writes the Entrepreneur’s Brand Maven blog. Previously, she wrote a monthly column for Entrepreneur.com and has written pieces for both Fast Company and New York Reports. Additionally, her career has been profiled by dozens of blogs and newspapers, including the Wall Street Journal.
Throughout her career, Cari has been deeply committed to community philanthropy. She is a mentor-advisor to entrepreneurs in Cornell e-Lab, an undergraduate incubator. From 2006-2009, she served as the Chair of the New York Board of Directors of Step Up Women’s Network, a national nonprofit dedicated to connecting and advancing women and girls. During her time as Chair, Step Up’s membership increased by 400 percent and the fundraising doubled.
Cari is a graduate of Cornell University and Brooklyn Law School. She lives in NYC.
