I started Loudpixel with two other partners in 2009 to create a more efficient and accurate process around social and mainstream media analysis. We took everything that frustrated us about the analysis process (e.g. irrelevant content scumming up the data stream, lack of relevant context, inaccurate automated sentiment) and created our own analysis tool from scratch. Our tool pulls in raw conversation data from set providers and creates a representative sample set for our analysts to tag for relevancy, context and sentiment. From there, we're able to build out custom online interactive reports for our clients. We've worked with a number of national and international brands across the multiple sectors, including consumer packaged goods, spirits, restaurants and automotive. We moved the company from Chicago to East Lansing, Michigan in January of 2011 in an effort to bring new jobs to Michigan's economy. I've used the extra savings from my lower cost of living to start a project called Entretrip, a "co-traveling" initiative that invites location independent entrepreneurs to live and work together in a house for a week. The first Entretrip was in Costa Rica in December, 2011, and the learnings and bonding that our group experienced during that trip far exceeded any conference I've ever been to. I'll be continuing the project in 2012.
